Ning Wang serves as a Senior Research Fellow in Data Science at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, where he is based at the Oxford-NIE financial Big Data Lab. He concurrently holds a Research Associate position at the Oxford Internet Institute. His research applies data science methodologies to complex social and economic challenges, with specialized focus on financial systems and digital behavior analysis.
Dr. Wang's research portfolio centers on Financial Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning applications in finance, examining social media dynamics within mobile trading platforms. He investigates online sentiment's impact on financial markets, trading behavior patterns, and behavioral finance phenomena. His work extends into social computing frameworks, advanced data mining techniques, and comprehensive social network analysis, creating interdisciplinary bridges between computational methods and socioeconomic systems.
Analysis of his publication trajectory reveals consistent innovation across high-impact domains. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he contributed critical epidemiological modeling and policy evaluation research.
