Dr Nina Sivertsen is an Indigenous Sámi academic and Associate Professor at Flinders University (Australia) and Arctic University of Norway. She is affiliated with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the Caring Futures Institute. Her research focuses on culturally responsive healthcare for First Nations peoples, addressing disparities in maternal care, Indigenous health systems, and decolonization in education. She holds a PhD (2014) and a Graduate Certificate in Education (2016).
Research Highlights:
- Lead projects on Indigenous women’s health, birthing experiences, and cultural safety
- Recipient of 13 awards including the Flinders Reconciliation Award (2022) and Women in Innovation Award (2021)
