Research explores intersections of literature, music, and cultural studies through feminist and interdisciplinary lenses. Primary investigations examine: 1) Representations of female musicians in 19th-century European novels, 2) Baudelaire's poetry in musical adaptations (art song and rap), 3) Gender politics in performing arts, and 4) Francophone hip hop culture. She contributed significantly to the Baudelaire Song Project cataloging musical settings of Baudelaire's works.
Publications demonstrate sustained focus on 19th-century literary-musical analysis (particularly George Sand and Baudelaire) evolving toward contemporary French rap's engagement with canonical poetry. Recent work documents biographical profiles of hip hop artists, reflecting expanded cultural studies methodology.
Honors include the Fulbright Teaching Assistantship and recognition as Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
