Nina Proufas

Nina Proufas is a Professor of Social Work at the DHGS German University of Health and Sport, serving since September 2021. She chairs the examination board for the Department of Sports and is the contact person for the BA Social Work program. Her professional roles include leadership in youth welfare and legal advisory positions at the Munich municipal government.

Education: Bachelor of Laws (2006–2009) from SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg; Master of Laws in Social Law and Social Economy (2010–2012) from University of Kassel; PhD in Law (2023) from University of Kassel, with a thesis on disability benefits in social security.

Research focuses on disability law, gender equality, and inclusive policies. Recent publications address legal frameworks for social inclusion, transgender rights in sports, labor integration for disabled individuals, and healthcare access for mobility-impaired populations. Active in professional organizations, including the German Juristinnenbund as a mentor and the BAGHR e.V.
