Nina Komrij is a Research Fellow and PhD candidate in the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University, affiliated with the Developmental and Educational Psychology department under the Social and Behavioural Sciences faculty. Her work focuses on early intervention programs for anxiety-prone toddlers, specifically leading the 'Cool Little Kids' randomized clinical trial collaboration with GGD Amsterdam and mental health organizations. She holds a Master’s in Health Sciences from VU University Amsterdam, specializing in health promotion and prevention strategies.
Her research interests include social anxiety in youth, cognitive behavioral therapy applications, and inhibition mechanisms in child development. Supervised by Prof. Michiel Westenberg and Dr. Leonie Vreeke, her PhD project investigates cost-effectiveness of early childhood interventions. Teaching responsibilities include modules across undergraduate and master’s programs in Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, and School Psychology.
