Dr. Nina Ehlert is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Inorganic Solid State and Materials Chemistry group at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Leibniz University Hannover. Her research focuses on advanced biomaterials, drug delivery systems, and nanotechnology for biomedical applications. She specializes in designing functional coatings, responsive nanoparticles, and implant materials to address challenges in targeted therapy and medical device performance.
Her work integrates inorganic chemistry with materials engineering, particularly exploring silica-based nanoparticles for drug delivery, magnetic targeting, and surface-functionalized implants. Recent studies involve light- and pH-responsive materials, hydrogel coatings for reversible adhesion, and imaging techniques to track nanoparticle distribution in vivo.
Dr. Ehlert collaborates on projects related to cochlear implants, dental applications, and antibacterial coatings. Her research outcomes contribute to improving implant longevity, localized drug release mechanisms, and biocompatible material design. She is affiliated with the Institute’s interdisciplinary initiatives in biomaterials and nanomedicine.
