Nina Döllinger is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Human-Computer-Media, part of the Faculty of Human Sciences at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg. Her work focuses on embodied cognition, virtual reality (VR), and therapeutic applications of immersive technologies. She holds a B.Sc. in Psychology from LMU München and an M.Sc. in Human Factors from TU Berlin.
Key research areas include avatar embodiment effects, body perception modulation, and mindfulness support in VR. Notable projects include the ViTraS initiative for obesity treatment through modulated body image exercises. She has contributed to over 20 peer-reviewed publications since 2019, with recent work exploring avatar-realism incongruencies, eco-behavioral interventions via VR, and personality-enhanced virtual agents for psychotherapy.
