Nina Detzen is a Visiting Professor at the School of Business and Economics, Department of Accounting at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She holds a PhD from the University of St. Gallen (2016). Her research focuses on management control systems, human behavior in R&D teams, leadership styles, team adaptability, and new product development. She teaches courses including Portfolio Accounting and Control, Data Analytics for Accounting and Control, and supervises bachelor/master theses.
Her research interests emphasize organizational dynamics in innovation processes, with recent work exploring leadership impacts on R&D performance and CEO-CFO collaboration mechanisms. She actively participates in academic conferences such as the European Accounting Association Annual Congress (2016-2018).
Detzen has published three peer-reviewed articles since 2018, focusing on innovation management, executive relationships, and project success factors. Her teaching integrates IT-systems applications in accounting contexts.
