Nina A. Kohn is a Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School and the David M. Levy Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Online Education at Syracuse University College of Law. She is affiliated with the Syracuse University Aging Studies Institute and a member of the American Law Institute.

Her research focuses on elder law, civil rights of older adults, and legal issues surrounding diminished cognitive capacity. Key areas include family caregiving, surrogate decision-making, elder abuse, and elder rights advocacy. She authored the textbook Elder Law: Practice, Policy & Problems (2014) and has contributed to reforms in guardianship laws through her role as Reporter for the Third Revision of the Uniform Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Act.
Awards include Syracuse University College of Law’s Res Ipsa Loquitur Award for teaching excellence and the Judith Greenberg Seinfeld Distinguished Faculty Fellowship.
Public service includes a Skadden Fellowship focused on representing nursing home residents and frail elders, as well as clerkship experience with the Honorable Fred I. Parker of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
She leads initiatives in online legal education as Associate Dean and collaborates with the Aging Studies Institute to advance interdisciplinary aging research.
