Nimet GENÇOĞLU

Prof. Nimet GENÇOĞLU is a Professor of Endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, Üsküdar University. She holds academic positions including Head of the Endodontics Department and serves on the Education Commission. Her educational background includes a BSc (1981) and MSc (1981) in Dentistry from Istanbul University, followed by a PhD in Dental Diseases and Treatment from Marmara University (1992). She advanced through academic ranks: Assistant Professor (1992), Associate Professor (1995), and Professor (2001) at Marmara University before her current role.

Her research focuses on endodontic instrumentation, root canal sealers, pain management, and bioceramic materials. Notable projects include the BAP-funded study on bioceramic-based sealers (2023). She actively contributes to clinical research, with recent work on postoperative pain in root canal treatments and histological analysis of cleaning effectiveness. She has authored/co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles in journals like the European Journal of Dentistry and PLOS ONE, and chapters in national dental textbooks.

Prof. GENÇOĞLU teaches Endodontics II and clinical observation courses, emphasizing hands-on training. She has supervised multiple national and international congress presentations, including studies on augmented reality in endodontics and bioceramic material properties. Her work bridges clinical practice and material science, addressing challenges in root canal therapy and pain management.
