Dr. Nima Fathi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marine Engineering Technology at Texas A&M University at Galveston's College of Marine Sciences & Maritime Studies. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (2017), an MS in Nuclear Engineering (2016), and an MS in Mechanical Engineering (2012) from the University of New Mexico, complemented by a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (2006). With over 17 years of combined industry and academic experience, he specializes in thermal-fluid systems and computational analysis.
His research focuses on experimental and computational methods (CFD/FSI/FEA) applied to heat exchanger design, fabrication, and hybrid energy systems. He maintains active leadership in nuclear engineering standardization as Chair of the American Nuclear Society (ANS) 10.4 Working Group and a technical member of the ASME V&V 20 Committee.
Dr. Fathi has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in thermal hydraulics for over eight years at the University of New Mexico. His professional expertise bridges mechanical engineering, nuclear technology, and maritime applications.
