Nilson Nicolau Junior

Nilson Nicolau Junior is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Biotechnology (IBTEC) at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), where he has been working since August 20, 2013 with exclusive dedication. He is affiliated with the Molecular Modeling Laboratory (LaMMol) at the Umuarama Campus.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2004)
• Master's degree in Genetics and Plant Breeding from São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2008)
• PhD in Genetics from Ribeirão Preto School of Medicine (FMRP - USP)

Research Interests:

Dr. Nicolau has extensive experience in Genetics, with a particular emphasis on Molecular Genetics and Structural Bioinformatics. His work bridges computational approaches with molecular biology to understand genetic structures and functions. Within Structural Bioinformatics, he focuses on molecular modeling techniques to analyze protein structures and their interactions. His interdisciplinary approach combines traditional genetic analysis with cutting-edge computational methods, contributing to advancements in biotechnology research.
