Niloy Dutta is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Connecticut (1997-present). His research focuses on optoelectronic devices, semiconductor lasers, and telecommunication systems, including all-optical logic devices, short-pulse generation, and supercontinuum generation using optical fibers and waveguides. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University (1978) and earlier degrees from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi.
