Niloufar Salehi is an Associate Professor at the School of Information, UC Berkeley, with affiliations in EECS and the Berkeley AI Research Lab (BAIR). She holds a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University (2018). Her research focuses on Human-Centered AI, particularly in healthcare, education, and restorative justice. Key projects include improving machine translation reliability in medical contexts, designing equitable school assignment algorithms, and applying restorative justice principles to address online harm. She advises PhD students through the School of Information and EECS programs.
