Dr. Nikolaus Perneczky is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at Queen Mary University of London, affiliated with the School of Languages, Linguistics and Film, Department of Film Studies. His postdoctoral project "Restitution and the Moving Image: Decolonising Global Film Heritage" (2022–2025) interrogates colonial legacies in global audiovisual archiving. Key research areas include Global South cinema, World Cinema as uneven global relations, transnational film co-production, and decolonial approaches to film heritage.
