Nikola Miletić is a Researcher at the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Architecture, where he pursues doctoral studies alongside his academic role. Since 2018, he has been actively involved in research and teaching, focusing on energy efficiency, green architecture, and bioclimatic design principles. His position as Assistant within the Department of Architectural Technologies was secured through formal elections in 2021, reflecting his growing contributions to the academic community.
Nikola's academic education includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture (2016), University of Belgrade – Faculty of Architecture
- Master's degree in Architecture (2018), same institution
- Doctoral studies in Architecture (enrolled since 2018), researching energy-efficient construction and building performance optimization
His research interests are centered on energy efficiency of buildings, green architecture, and bioclimatic design, with a focus on architectural construction techniques, materials science, and building physics. He investigates renewable resources, particularly subgeothermal underground water systems, to enhance energy efficiency in architectural projects. His work emphasizes sustainable design practices and resilient building strategies aligned with environmental conservation goals.
Nikola has contributed to major research initiatives such as the GIZ-coordinated project 'Energy efficiency in public buildings of Serbia' and the Science Fund of Serbia-supported project TR-33053. He was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development in 2020 for his involvement in TR-33053. Additionally, he played a key role in the TwistBox project, which advanced to the final stages of the Solar Decathlon Middle East 2018 international competition in Dubai.
In his academic roles, Nikola has served as a Teaching Associate and Assistant, supporting undergraduate and graduate courses at the Faculty. He actively organizes workshops and round tables on energy efficiency topics, co-developed the Energy Efficiency Knowledge Hub, and maintains this platform to disseminate research findings. His teaching and research activities are closely intertwined, reflecting his commitment to both education and applied research.
Nikola is an active member of two research laboratories: SaRA: Sustainable and Resilient Architecture Lab (Lab 21) and the Building Stock Research Unit (Lab 18). These affiliations enable him to collaborate on projects analyzing Serbia's building stock energy performance and advancing innovative sustainable construction methodologies. His international engagements include presenting research at global conferences and participating in EU-funded initiatives like Cli-CC.HE and ECOBUILT, which focus on sustainable urban development and energy-efficient building practices.
