Niklas Lindlbauer is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Strategic Management at King's Business School, King's College London, and a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge. His academic work focuses on strategic decision-making in large organizations, particularly in the area of resource allocation across business units.
His research interests lie at the intersection of corporate strategy and organizational design. Key areas include corporate-level strategy, the role of corporate headquarters, diversification, conglomerate structures, and strategic renewal. He aims to understand how firms can avoid costly misallocations of resources through better strategic frameworks and governance.
Niklas received his PhD from the University of Cambridge. Prior to his academic career, he worked for three years at leading strategy consulting firms McKinsey & Company and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), bringing practical industry experience into his research.
As an active researcher and educator, he is currently accepting new PhD students, indicating ongoing engagement in academic mentorship and research supervision. His work bridges theoretical insights with real-world strategic challenges faced by multinational corporations.
