Nihat Altiparmak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Louisville. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Bilkent University (2007) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio (2013). His research focuses on data storage systems, parallel/distributed systems, high-performance computing, and cloud computing. He directs the Computer Systems Laboratory at the University of Louisville and has received NSF awards for his work on storage optimization and big data infrastructure.
