Nigel Frame is a Lecturer in Radiation Therapy at Charles Sturt University's School of Dentistry and Medical Sciences, based at the Wagga Wagga Campus. He commenced his academic position in October 2019, bringing over 25 years of clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist to his teaching role.
His educational background is remarkably diverse, spanning both medical and humanities disciplines. Frame holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Radiations Technology from Queensland University of Technology (1994), a Bachelor of Health Management and Bachelor of Arts from University of New England, a Master of Health Sciences in Radiation Therapy from University of Sydney, and dual Master's degrees in Education (Adult Education and Training) and Arts (Ancient History) from University of New England.
Frame's research interests bridge clinical practice and broader societal themes. His primary areas include Advanced Imaging Techniques for Radiation Therapy, Management and Education in Medical Radiation Sciences, and the intersection of Religion and Health Promotion. He is currently pursuing a PhD investigating the role of religion in the suppression of cancer development, combining his interests in Oncology, Immunology, and Religious Studies. His recent publications focus on soft skills in medical radiation science, CT imaging optimization, and radiation dose management.
His research output demonstrates a clear trajectory toward improving both technical and interpersonal aspects of radiation therapy practice. The 2024-2025 publications reveal his dual focus on technical optimization (radiation dose, image quality) and human factors (soft skills, patient care) in medical imaging.
