Nienke Ebbs

Nienke Ebbs serves as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Law at Utrecht University's Faculty of Law, Economics and Governance, where she is actively affiliated with the Molengraaff Institute for Private Law.

Her research centers on Private Law with specialized expertise in Law of Obligations and Civil Law, examining legal frameworks governing rights, contracts, and civil liabilities in contemporary legal systems.

She teaches core courses for the Bachelor of Law program including:

• Introduction to the Law of Obligations
• Rights in Utrecht 2025

These courses integrate theoretical principles with practical applications in Dutch and European legal contexts.

Dr. Ebbs participates in the Molengraaff Institute's research initiatives focused on private law evolution and legal harmonization.
