Nidhi Joshi is a Ph.D. student and Researcher at the Human-Computer Interaction Group within the Department of Informatics at the University of Hamburg. She works across disciplines, collaborating with Social Psychology and Human-Computer Interaction teams.
Her research focuses on automating the analysis of human behavioral cues during social interactions through Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision, with an emphasis on simulating these behaviors in virtual environments. She also has expertise in Medical Image Processing from her Master’s studies.
Joshi joined the University of Hamburg as a Researcher in October 2020 after completing her Master’s in Computer Science at Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen in January 2020. Her work contributes to projects in the XR Lab and virtual reality research.
Her publications include studies on emotion analytics in virtual group meetings and self-referent gaze behavior during virtual interactions. Her research aligns with the university’s focus on digitalization and interdisciplinary collaboration.
