Nida Rehman is an Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), serving as Track Chair for the PhD in Architecture program. Her interdisciplinary work focuses on urban geographies, postcolonial studies, and environmental justice. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge (2020) and has authored/co-authored publications in leading journals like International Journal of Urban and Regional Research and Antipode.

Research Interests:
Dr. Rehman examines how colonialism and uneven development shape urban ecologies, particularly in Lahore, Pakistan, and the Mon Valley. Her book project, The Intractable Garden, explores colonial legacies in urban landscapes. She co-founded the South Asia Urban Climates initiative and directs Spaces for Containment and Care, addressing spatial and social responses to epidemics.

- Taking Back the Air: Community-centered environmental justice work in Braddock, PA, supported by the SOM Foundation.
- Collaborative mapping and advocacy projects with General Sisters in North Braddock.

Teaching & Mentorship:
She teaches courses on urban systems, environmental racism, and architectural design. Her advisee includes PhD candidate Morgan Newman. Grants include funding from Imagining America and the Royal Geographical Society.
