Nicolás Parra Herrera is an Associate Professor of Law at the S.J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah, and holds the Wagner/Holbrook Presidential Chair in Negotiation. He earned his S.J.D. (doctoral degree) from Harvard Law School, alongside degrees from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia. His expertise spans Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Legal Ethics, Legal Theory, and Digital Justice. He teaches negotiation, mediation, and leadership, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches combining pragmatism and theory.

Taught at Universidad de los Andes and clerked at Colombia’s Constitutional Court. Practiced law in Colombia for five years before transitioning to academia.
Interests: Combines legal scholarship with cultural critique through film and philosophy. Enjoys jazz, running (e.g., Provo Canyon Half Marathon), and fostering intellectual dialogue through teaching and public engagement.
