Nicole Vlado Torres

Nicole Vlado Torres is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at The Cooper Union. She specializes in promoting equity in the built environment and public realm, with extensive experience in affordable housing design. Her professional work has resulted in homes for over 3,500 families and unhoused New Yorkers.

Her research focuses on urban equity, affordable housing solutions, and community-centered design practices. She actively engages with professional organizations to improve architectural standards through roles with AIANY's Housing Committee and nycoba NOMA.

Current initiatives include facilitating public-private partnerships to improve NYCHA open spaces and addressing NYC's housing crisis through her fellowship programs.
