Nicole Swiderski

Nicole Swiderski is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Faculty Fellow at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Honors Academy. She is affiliated with the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice in Becton College.

Education:

• BA in Crime, Law, & Justice and Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University
• MA in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University
• PhD in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University

Research Interests:

• Focuses on victims and offenders at the intersection of criminal justice and psychology
• Key areas: cognitive consequences of violent victimization, victim identity formation, victimization and mental health, media-crime relationships, and sports-related domestic violence
• Current projects: victim identity dynamics, media influence on victim perception, and offender reentry program evaluations

Professional Roles:

• Board Member, Treasurer, and Registered Agent of The L.I.N.D.A. Organization (supporting women post-incarceration, domestic violence survivors, and marginalized populations)
• Faculty Advisor to Pi Alpha Kappa Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the Criminal Justice Honor Society
