Dr. Nicole Stormon is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland's School of Dentistry and inaugural Program Convenor for the Doctor of Dental Medicine program. As a registered Oral Health Therapist, her research focuses on health service delivery models, dental workforce development, and policy evaluation, particularly regarding the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
Research utilizes mixed methods including quantitative analysis of large health datasets, qualitative assessments of patient experiences, and collaborative design of community-based interventions. Key studies examine geographic disparities in dental service access, mental health in dental education, and innovative care models for homeless populations.
Significant policy contributions include expert testimony to the Aged Care Royal Commission and advocacy for oral health professional recognition in national healthcare frameworks. Ongoing collaborations with Queensland Health aim to develop cost-effective, evidence-based dental care delivery systems.
