Nicole S. Cohen is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information, affiliated with the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information, and Technology. Her work focuses on the political economy of communication, labor dynamics in media industries, and gender/race in journalism.
- Recipient of the 2017 Gertrude J. Robinson Book Prize
- Co-winner of the 2013 CWA Canada/CAJ Award for Labour Reporting
Her research explores media worker organizing, precarity in cultural industries, and collective responses to labor challenges. She is currently collaborating on an SSHRC-funded project titled 'Cultural Workers Organize' and co-authoring a book on cultural workers' collective responses to precarity.
