Nicole Prideaux is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the School of Allied Health Science and Practice within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. She is a clinical physiotherapist specializing in neurological rehabilitation and stroke recovery. Her research focuses on cardiovascular exercise interventions using robotic technology (e.g., Lokomat) and transitions to body-weight supported treadmill training. She is currently pursuing a PhD investigating mind-body therapies for persistent pain post-stroke, with interests in interoception, exteroception, and the autonomic nervous system's role in physical health. She also explores chronic disease management, behavior change, and robotics in neurological rehabilitation.
- Education:
- Master of Clinical Rehabilitation by Research (2020)
- Enrolled in PhD (mind-body therapies for stroke-related pain)
Research Interests: Nicole’s work bridges clinical practice and neuroscience, examining how psychological factors (e.g., beliefs, perceptions) influence physical function. She investigates innovative therapies and technologies to improve outcomes for neurological patients. Her broader areas include functional neurological disorders, self-management strategies, and the integration of mind-body practices into rehabilitation.
