Nicole Paula Note

Nicole Paula Note (b. 1959) is a Research Fellow at the Centre Leo Apostel for Interdisciplinary Studies, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. She earned her PhD Cum Laude from Leiden University in 2007, specializing in intercultural philosophy and worldview studies. Her research examines meaning in life through continental philosophy lenses, notably exploring intersections of environmental ethics, volunteering, and adult education.

Her work pioneers phenomenological approaches to human orientation and community dynamics, with recent studies investigating:

• The role of 'moments of community' in andragogy
• Ethical dimensions of volunteerism
• Digital activism measurement frameworks
• Reconceptualizations of globalization
