Nicole Markotić is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of Windsor, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. She specializes in creative writing and poetry, with notable publications including After Beowulf (2022) and Whelmed (2016). Her work often reimagines classic texts and explores themes of identity, cultural critique, and narrative innovation.
She has mentored graduate students in creative writing and contributed to academic events, including panels on graduate research and workshops on inclusive language. Her collaborations include co-authoring poetry collections and supporting student-led literary projects like the ZZOO collaborative work (2025).
