Nicole Labbe is an Assistant Professor in Thermo Fluid Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research focuses on chemical kinetics, renewable fuels, combustion modeling, and reactive flows. She leads the Labbe Lab, which develops computational models and conducts experiments to understand fuel behavior in extreme conditions relevant to engines, turbines, and rocket thrusters.
Her research integrates theoretical methods with micro-reactor and flat flame experiments to study short-time chemical reactions and flame composition changes. This work aims to address energy challenges in transportation by bridging chemistry and engineering.
Current opportunities include welcoming Ph.D. students for Fall 2019. For inquiries, contact nicole.labbe@colorado.edu. The Labbe Lab’s work has been presented at venues like the International Symposium on Combustion.
Lab locations include ECNW 210 (office) and ECME 1B68 (lab). Research interests emphasize renewable fuels, combustion efficiency, and predictive modeling for energy systems.
