Nicole K. Davi serves as an Adjunct Senior Research Scientist in the Biology and Paleo Environment division at Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO) and holds a Professor position in the Department of Environmental Science at William Paterson University. Her primary research base is the Tree-Ring Lab at LDEO's Palisades, NY facility.
Her research integrates dendrochronology—the precise dating of tree rings—with paleoclimatology to reconstruct historical climate patterns and environmental changes. She extends her scientific work into science education initiatives and cross-disciplinary science-art collaborations, creating innovative frameworks for public engagement with climate science through visual and experiential media.
Davi directs the Tree-Ring Lab at LDEO, where she leads investigations into climate history using tree-ring chronologies. The lab functions as an interdisciplinary nexus connecting earth science research with educational outreach and artistic interpretation, emphasizing the communication of complex environmental data to diverse audiences.
