Nicole Dunn

Nicole Dunn is a Senior Lecturer and Program Director of the Online Interdisciplinary Studies – Social Sciences Program at Central Washington University (CWU), a role she has held since 2012. With over 20 years at CWU, she has served as a fitness instructor, health educator, academic advisor, and lecturer. Her expertise spans wellness, health promotion, and body image, reflected in her course offerings such as IDS 405 (Project Funding), IDS 321 (Body Image, Wellness, and Popular Culture), and IDS 305 (Surviving to Thriving: Resiliency).

• Education: M.S. in Health and Leisure Services (2003), B.S. in Sport and Fitness Administration/Management (1998), both from CWU.

Her teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking, writing proficiency, and fostering student resilience. Courses like HED 210 (Drugs and Health) and HED 310 (Community Health) underscore her commitment to holistic health education. Beyond academia, she enjoys outdoor activities with her two sons, including skiing, snowboarding, and mountain biking.
