Nicole Dezrea Jenkins, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology & Criminology at Howard University and a Visiting Professor at Harvard University. As a qualitative urban ethnographer, she employs intersectional and critical feminist frameworks to investigate race, gender, labor, migration, and Black placemaking, with a focus on natural hair discrimination.
