Nicole (Nikki) Arnell is an Associate Professor of Graphic Design Education at Arkansas State University's Department of Art + Design, within the College of Liberal Arts and Communication. She holds an M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Colorado State University and a B.A. in Studio Art (Graphic Design) and Journalism (Advertising, Copywriting) from Indiana University.
Her research focuses on merging traditional art techniques with digital design, audience reception's impact on artwork, and the social implications of advertising. She explores historical movements like Art Nouveau, High Modernism, and Postmodernism. Teaching specialties include Typography, Branding, and the History of Graphic Design.
Dr. Arnell actively contributes to professional communities through roles like AIGA-Memphis Education Co-Director and guest speaking at AAF chapters. Her work balances commercial design with gallery aesthetics, emphasizing mindfulness in education and socially responsible branding.
