معرفی
Nicolas Zegre is an Associate Professor of Forest Hydrology and Director of the West Virginia University Mountain Hydrology Laboratory. His work focuses on understanding mountain freshwater ecosystems, environmental change, and the intersection of human-environment interactions through water science. He holds degrees from West Virginia University (BS, Forest Resources Management), Virginia Tech (MS, Forest Sciences), and Oregon State University (PhD, Forest Engineering).
Research Interests:
- Land surface and atmospheric processes in water resources
- Impact of environmental and climate change on mountain ecosystems
- Human-environment interactions through water
- Hydrological modeling and experimental design
Publications: His research spans topics like mountaintop removal mining hydrology, isotopic trends in extreme weather (e.g., Superstorm Sandy), and climate-vegetation-water interactions in Eastern China. Key methodologies include multi-scale analysis and model-based change detection.
Lab Affiliation: Leads the Mountain Hydrology Laboratory at West Virginia University, emphasizing freshwater ecosystem resilience and service sustainability in mountainous regions.
