Nicolas MEGER

Nicolas MEGER is a University Professor at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc, affiliated with the IUT Annecy. His research focuses on extracting knowledge from temporal/spatiotemporal datasets, with expertise in Knowledge Discovery in Databases, Data Mining, and Remote Sensing.

Education & Career: Engineer’s degree (2001) and PhD (2004) in Computer Science from INSA Lyon. Associate Professor since 2005, Professor since 2019, and Habilitation recipient (2013).

Research Projects: Lead ANR projects like CR2-IA (2022-2026) for AI in rockfall prediction and REPED-SARIX (2022-2024). Collaborates with CNES on SITS Deep/START Deep projects. Former projects include EFIDIR (2008-2012) and AEGIS (2001-2005).

Teaching: Teaches Information System Design, Data Mining, Big Data, and AI at IUT Annecy.

Prototypes: Developed tools like CISP, DFTS-P2miner, SITS-P2miner, SPATPAM, and WinMiner for sequential pattern mining in satellite and geophysical datasets.
