Nicolas DELSUC is a CNRS Researcher at the BioMolecules Laboratory (UMR 7203 CNRS-SU-ENS) affiliated with École Normale Supérieure in Paris, where he also served as Assistant Professor associate from 2020-2022. His research focuses on the intersection of chemistry, biology, and medicine, developing innovative metal-based compounds for biomedical applications.
His educational background includes:
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Bordeaux1 University (2005-2007)
- PhD in Organic Chemistry, Bordeaux1 University under Dr. Ivan Huc (2004-2007), focusing on proteomimetic tertiary structures with aromatic oligoamide foldamers

Delsuc's research centers on developing peptidyl metal complexes that mimic metalloenzymes and creating metal-centered probes for bio-imaging and diagnostic applications. His work combines peptide chemistry with inorganic chemistry to create compounds that leverage the properties of both molecular classes. He has made significant contributions to superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimics and catalase mimics, exploring their potential as therapeutic agents for inflammatory diseases and oxidative stress-related conditions.
His recent publications reveal a strong focus on bioinorganic chemistry with emphasis on metalloprobes for cellular imaging, particularly using X-ray fluorescence and IR imaging techniques.
