Dr. Nicolas Brando is a philosopher specializing in ethics, social and political philosophy, and philosophy of law. His research focuses on marginalized groups, children's rights, and social justice. He holds a Newton International Fellowship (British Academy, 2020–2022) and leads projects on the Convention on the Rights of the Child. His work explores childhood status, educational justice, and the capabilities approach to human development.
Research Interests:
- Childhood: Analyzes definitions of childhood, justice frameworks for children, and rights owed to minors
- Educational Justice: Examines distribution of educational resources and pedagogical tools
- Capabilities Approach: Assesses well-being metrics and inequality through Amartya Sen's framework
