Nicolas Avramov serves as a Researcher at the Institute for Private International Law, International Civil Procedure, and Comparative Law within the Faculty of Law at Free University of Berlin, a position held since 2023 under Univ.-Prof. Dr. Helmut Grothe. His work spans research, teaching assistance, and academic competition coordination in specialized legal domains.
His academic foundation includes:
- 2014-2023: Law studies at Heidelberg University with specialization in Private International Law and International Civil Procedure
- 2017-2018: Study abroad at University of Oxford (St Catherine's College)
- 2023: First State Examination in Law (Baden-Württemberg)

Avramov's research concentrates on Private International Law, Comparative Law, and Sports Law, with particular emphasis on transnational legal frameworks in sports regulation and international commercial arbitration. His methodology integrates doctrinal analysis with comparative approaches across European and international jurisdictions.
He actively contributes to the Willem C. Vis Moot Court program as both participant (2016-2017) and current coach, while co-organizing Sports Law seminars and lectures. His prior experience includes six years as student assistant at Heidelberg University's Institute for Civil Law, Labor Law, and Insolvency Law (2016-2022).
Within institutional structures, Avramov forms part of the core team managing the university's Vis Moot participation—including both Vienna and Hong Kong competitions—and develops curriculum components for the Sports Law initiative, including specialized seminars and foundational lectures.
