Nicola Beer

Nicola Beer joined Oxford Brookes University in January 2022 as a Principal Lecturer and Head of Digital Inclusive Curriculum Enhancement. She focuses on leveraging digital tools to improve curricula and ensure equitable access to higher education (HE). Her role involves strategic curriculum development and fostering inclusive pedagogical practices.

Research Interests: Nicola's work centers on HE pedagogy, including design thinking, online learning frameworks, and student partnership models. She explores legitimacy challenges for blended professionals (e.g., librarians as educators) and develops tools like student workload calculators for curriculum optimization.

Publications & Conferences: Her recent publications address inclusive curriculum design and transformative learning rubrics. She presented at conferences such as the 7th Biennial International Conference on Access and Participation (2023) and the Academic Enhancement and Professional Development Nano Conference (2022).
