Nico Adams is a Professor and Optus Chair of Digital Innovation and IoT at James Cook University (JCU), where he also serves as Associate Dean of Industry and Innovation in the College of Science and Engineering. His research focuses on digital twins, IoT applications, and systems science, with a particular emphasis on supporting industries in North Queensland through digital transformation. Previously, he held roles as an Associate Professor at Swinburne University of Technology and Director of Swinburne’s Factory of the Future, pioneering industry-academia collaboration models. He has extensive experience in senior research roles at CSIRO and academic institutions like the University of Cambridge.
