معرفی
Dr. Nick Sharples is a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at Middlesex University, affiliated with the Faculty of Science & Technology. His research focuses on fractal geometry and its applications to partial differential equations (PDEs), particularly analyzing Moran sets and their implications for mathematical analysis. He has contributed to interdisciplinary work linking fractal dimensions to infinite-dimensional systems like reaction-diffusion equations and Navier-Stokes equations.
In educational roles, he is instrumental in curriculum development, including integrating professional qualifications from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) into the MSc Financial Mathematics programme. He teaches advanced modules such as Communicating Mathematics (MSO3130), Real and Complex Analysis (MSO3120), and contributes to foundational courses across undergraduate mathematics programmes.
Dr. Sharples emphasizes blended learning approaches, blending on-campus and online sessions to enhance student engagement. His efforts include organizing academic events, such as a taster day for prospective students, and supporting initiatives like the CISI Educational Trust Awards to foster professional development. His work bridges pure mathematics research with practical applications in finance and education.
