Nick Petropoulos

Nick Petropoulos is an Associate Professor at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), affiliated with the School of Mechanical Engineering and the Section of Nuclear Engineering. He serves as Director of the Laboratory of Nuclear Engineering and the PC Lab within the school.

• PhD in Nuclear Engineering (2003) and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (1991), both from NTUA

His research focuses on fission nuclear power reactors and their radiological consequences in the environment. He also specializes in non-destructive material testing using nuclear engineering methods. At NTUA, he teaches undergraduate courses such as Physical Principles of Nuclear Power Reactors and Materials Testing with Radiography and Ultrasound, and co-teaches Nuclear Measurement Systems. For postgraduate students, he instructs in interdisciplinary programs on Fusion Nuclear Reactors and Non-Destructive Material Testing.

Petropoulos is a member of the Health Physics Society, the Hellenic Association of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, and the Technical Chamber of Greece. His professional career at NTUA spans over two decades, including roles as Research Assistant, Lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor.
