Nicholas Nagle is a Professor and Program Director of the NSF Human Networks and Data Science Program at the University of Tennessee's Department of Geography. He specializes in spatial statistics, spatial data science, and demography. His research focuses on improving population survey methodologies, particularly with the U.S. Census Bureau and USDA, and integrates multi-source data like surveys and imagery. Currently on leave until August 2026, he advises on the redesign of the 2020 Decennial Census through the National Academy of Sciences.
