Nicholas Long is a Research Fellow in the Department of Anthropology at the London School of Economics (LSE). His work focuses on psychological anthropology, with regional expertise in Indonesia, the Malay World, and Aotearoa New Zealand. He has conducted extensive fieldwork on hypnosis and hypnotherapy in Indonesia, exploring how these practices intersect with social and political change. His research also encompasses pandemic studies, particularly through the CARUL Collective’s analysis of lockdown policies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
