His research explores intersections of religious narratives, disability representation, and supernatural themes in American literature from the colonial period through the 19th century. Specific projects examine Cotton Mather's miracle accounts, Washington Allston's religious art interpretations, and Chloe Willey's autobiographical authority.
Recent publications focus on ornithology in 18th-century literature, disability theology in American Romanticism, and temporal structures in colonial miracle narratives. His scholarly work contributes to understanding how early American writers conceptualized bodily difference and supernatural experiences.
As Associate Chair of the English Department, he coordinates academic initiatives while maintaining active research and teaching commitments. His courses include introductions to American literature and disability studies, as well as advanced seminars on captivity narratives.
