Dr Nglaa Ahmad is a Lecturer in Accountancy at the University of Aberdeen Business School, where she also serves as the Accountancy Postgraduate Research Coordinator and Library Representative. She earned her PhD from the University of Aberdeen in 2022 with a thesis on corporate accountability in relation to modern slavery and workers' vulnerability in global supply chains.
Her research focuses on critical accounting, particularly corporate accountability, modern slavery in global supply chains, gender equality, and sustainability. She is actively involved in several research centers and networks, including the Governance, Accountability and Sustainability Research Center, the Accounting, Society & Environment Research Network, and the Environmental Arts and Humanities Network at the University of Aberdeen.
Her recent publications in top journals like Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal and Critical Perspectives on Accounting explore themes of corporate disclosure, ethical responsibility, and NGO activism, especially in the context of global retail and supply chain vulnerabilities. The research trend highlights a strong commitment to social justice, transparency, and critical analysis of corporate power.

Dr Ahmad supervises PhD students and teaches courses such as Contemporary Issues in Accounting (AC4539) at the undergraduate level and Accounting (BU5031) and Accounting Reporting and Strategic Analysis (BU502B) at the postgraduate level. She is an active researcher with ongoing projects related to modern slavery transparency, gender accountability, and the impact of corporate practices on vulnerable suppliers during global crises.
