Newell Harry is a Lecturer in Contemporary Art (Screen and Photography) at Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney. His practice explores diasporic identities, post-colonial histories, and material culture through installation, photography, and conceptual art. Harry holds degrees including a DCA from the University of Wollongong and has been affiliated with institutions like UNSW, National Art School, and TBA21.
Research interests include autoethnography, Pacific-Asia connections, and archive reimagining. Current projects include Remedios: Where new land might grow (C3A, Spain) and ESPERANTO (MAMA, Australia). Notable exhibitions include the Venice Biennale (2015), 17th Istanbul Biennial (2022), and Sydney Biennale (2010).
