معرفی
Neville McClenaghan is a Professor and Head of Department of Life Sciences at Athlone Technological University (ATU) Sligo, and a Principal Investigator at the Health and Biomedical Research Centre (HEAL). His research focuses on pancreatic islet biology, diabetes pathophysiology, and the role of amino acids like taurine in β-cell function. Key areas include microRNA regulation of islet peptides, CFTR mutations in cystic fibrosis-related diabetes, and therapeutic strategies for β-cell stress and transdifferentiation.
- Roles: Professor, Department Head, HEAL PI.
- Location: ATU Sligo, Ireland.
Research interests span diabetes mechanisms, endocrine signaling, and translational therapies. Recent work highlights molecular mechanisms of taurine signaling, NKCC transport effects, and CFTR inhibition impacts on islet structure.
Publications emphasize diabetes therapeutic implications, cellular stress responses, and CF-related metabolic disorders. Collaborations include international studies on β-cell dysfunction and regenerative approaches.
